Adam Fogleman Named Craighead County 2011 Volunteer
Attorney of the Year by Legal Aid Of Arkansas
2011- Adam Fogleman has been
named the Craighead County 2011 Volunteer Attorney of the
Year by Legal Aid of Arkansas. He currently donates his
services through Legal Aid’s Equal Access to Justice Panel,
as well as volunteering for Arkansas Volunteer Lawyers for
the Elderly (AVLE). In 2010, Mr. Fogleman devoted over 64
hours to pro bono work through the Legal Aid organization
helping to service low-income and elderly clients in
Craighead County.
July 1, 2011- Womack, Landis, Phelps & McNeill, P.A. has recently announced the additions of Wade Bowen and Allison Waldrip as associate attorneys in the Jonesboro, Arkansas office.
A native of Jonesboro, Mr. Bowen is a 2007 cum laude graduate of the University of Arkansas, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree. Wade obtained his Juris Doctor from the University of Arkansas School of Law in 2010, where he was a member of the Journal of Food Law and Policy. Wade furthered his legal studies at Southern Methodist University, where he received his Master of Laws in Taxation in 2011.
Mr. Bowen is licensed to practice in Arkansas, and is a member of the American, Arkansas, and Craighead County Bar Associations. His practice will focus mainly on the areas of business law, trusts and estates, and partnership and corporate taxation.
Originally from Moro, Arkansas, Ms. Waldrip is a cum laude graduate of the University of Arkansas, where she earned Bachelor of Arts degrees in both English and Broadcast Journalism in 2007. Ms. Waldrip obtained her Juris Doctor in 2010 and her Master of Laws in Agriculture and Food Law in 2011 from the University of Arkansas School of Law, where she served as Vice Chair of the Board of Advocates.
Ms. Waldrip is licensed to practice law in Arkansas, and is a member of the American, Arkansas, and Craighead County Bar Associations. She will be practicing primarily in the areas of general litigation, agriculture law, and appellate practice.
Tom Womack Sworn in as the President of the Arkansas Bar
Association
June 2011 –Tom D. Womack of
Jonesboro will be sworn is as the president of the Arkansas
Bar Association on June 10, 2011. The swearing-in ceremony
by Chief Justice Jim Hannah will take place during the
Association’s annual meeting at the Hot Springs Convention
Center at noon on Friday. Mr. Womack is the president of
Womack, Landis, Phelps & McNeill, P.A. in Jonesboro.
Mr. Womack is currently a member of the Association’s Board
of Governors and has served as chair of the Probate and Tax
Law Section. He has been honored with the Charles L.
Carpenter Award for his exemplary service to the
Association. He has served multiple terms on the
Association’s House of Delegates and was a member of the
Executive Council. He is a longtime Sustaining Member of the
Association. He is a Sustaining Fellow of the Arkansas Bar
Foundation. He is also a fellow of the American College of
Trust and Estate Counsel where he serves on the Professional
Responsibility Committee and is the past Arkansas State
Chair. He is a past president of the Craighead County Bar
Association. He is a longtime member and trustee of Walnut
Street Baptist Church in Jonesboro. He is a board member and
has served as chair of the Jonesboro Chamber of Commerce. He
is currently a director of the Arkansas Children’s Hospital
Foundation and has served as director of the Arkansas
Community Foundation. Mr. Womack obtained his undergraduate
degree in accounting from Arkansas State University with
distinction and his Juris Doctor from the University of
Memphis School of Law.
The Arkansas Bar Association is a voluntary, statewide
organization with 5,000 members. Among its purposes are the
advancement of the administration of justice and the
fostering among its members of high ideals of integrity,
learning and public service.

Puryear Recognized for Pro
Bono Service
JONESBORO – Partner Jeffrey W. Puryear was recently
recognized by the Arkansas Pro Bono Partnership for his
exemplary service to Arkansas Volunteer Lawyers for the
Elderly (AVLE). In a special Winter 2010 publication of The
Arkansas Lawyer highlighting the Arkansas Pro Bono
Partnership, Puryear was commended for his commitment to pro
bono service. Puryear attributes this commitment to his
desire to give back to those in need of legal advice who
lack the necessary resources, and he regards the Arkansas
Pro Bono Partnership as providing him “the opportunity to
help those who want so badly to believe in our court system

Local Law Firm Continues to
Broaden its Talents with the Addition of New Associate, Adam
Fogleman
JONESBORO- Adam B Fogleman has
joined the Jonesboro law firm of Womack, Landis, Phelps &
McNeill, P.A.
Fogleman received his
bachelor's degree in aviation from Henderson State
University in Arkadelphia in 2004. He flew as a
commercial pilot for Premier Air Charter in Memphis,
Tennessee prior to attending law school. Adam
graduated in May 2009 with a Juris Doctor from the
University of Arkansas at Little Rock, William H. Bowen
School for Law and passed the Arkansas bar examination given
in July 2009.
During law school, Fogleman
competed in the National Institute of Trail Advocacy's
Tournament of Champions Trial Competition, as well as the
National Trial Competition's Regional Trial Advocacy
Competition. He is the recipient of the 2009
Outstanding Student Service Award from UALR's Student Bar
Association.
A member of the Craighead
County, Arkansas, and American Bar Associations, Fogleman is
the son of Judge John and Nancy Fogleman of Marion.

Woodard Attends Respected
Trial Academy
JONESBORO- Associate
Jared Woodard completed the International Association of
Defense Counsel’s Trial Academy at Stanford Law School on
July 31, 2009. The IADC Academy is an intensive seven-day
program led by leading defense trial lawyers from across the
United States. The Academy began in 1973 and is designed to
enhance the advocacy skills of young, talented defense
attorneys.
The Academy, like the IADC itself, is designed to foster
excellence and professional development in the legal
community. The IADC was founded in 1920, and its membership
primarily consists of corporate and insurance defense
attorneys. Woodard described his experience with the Academy
as “seven days of rigorous training, learning and practicing
trial skills with several of the best defense attorneys in
the country.”
Womack Honored by Arkansas
Bar Association
Tom D. Womack was honored by
his peers at the June 2009 Annual Meeting of the Arkansas
Bar Association, where he received the prestigious Charles
L. Carpenter Award. The Charles L. Carpenter Memorial Award
is presented annually to a member of the House of Delegates,
Board of Governors, or a Chair of a Section or Committee who
has distinguished himself or herself by extraordinary
service to the Association.
